SALINAS >> The Western Stage has announced its 2015 season, and it includes a Broadway play soon to be released as a movie, a work by local playwright Luis Valdez and a Mel Brooks classic.
The plays are: "You Can't Take It With You" (opening May 29); "Into The Woods" (July 11; movie opening Christmas Day); Valdez's "Corridos" (Aug. 29); "The Liar" (Sept. 18); "Tortilla Curtain" (Oct. 24); and Brooks' "The Producers" (Nov. 14). For more information, see westernstage.com.
Also on tap for 2015: Monterey Peninsula College's "MPC Follies" (February) and "The Jungle Book" (March), and Pacific Repertory Theatre's "Pirates of Penzance" (January). ARIEL Theatrical has nine plays lined up, including "Schoolhouse Rock, Live!," "The Hobbit" and "Fiddler on the Roof."
