People react to the band Worth Dying For during 13th annual Spirit West Coast at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey in 2009. Organizers say the festival will return next year after being canceled this year due to financial problems.

Spirit West Coast will return to Mazda-Laguna Seca Raceway next summer, festival organizers said.

The music and ministry event will be held Aug. 1-3 at the racecourse, said event director Jon Robberson.

Spirit West Coast has been held at Laguna Seca 15 times since 1997 and eight times in Southern California since 2004, he said.

This year's festival had been scheduled June 21-23 but was canceled due to financial difficulties brought on by the economic downturn, Robberson said.

Booking for the 2013 festival is just beginning, he said, and questions about who will be appearing and when tickets and camping reservations go on sale will begin to be answered before the end of the year.

The 2013 website will launch in January, but an interim website will be up by mid November at www.SpiritWestCoast.org.
