Carmel

Pacific Repertory Theatre, Golden Bough Playhouse, Monte Verde between Eighth and Ninth, 622-0700, www.pacrep.org. Professional theater company presents musicals, dramas, comedies and more at stages including the Golden Bough Theater and Forest Theater. Also has a program for children, School of Dramatic Arts, emphasizing creative and social growth through acting, singing, movement and production.

Staff Players Repertory Company, Indoor Forest Theatre, Santa Rita Street and Mountain View Avenue, 624-1531, www.cetstaffplayers.org. The company has been offering classical theater for about 40 years in the little theater downstairs from the outdoor Forest Theatre stage in Carmel. Also has a youth program, Children's Experimental Theater, Inc., with training and performance for kindergartners through high school students.

Carmel Valley Valley Players' Guild, Community Church of the Monterey Peninsula, 4590 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley, 626-0514. The players' guild formed in 2006, opening with "The Cat's Revenge," by founders Chuck Scardina and Dodie Barkley.

Unicorn Theatre, 649-0259. Stages plays that capture "the magical side of life," including original plays, new adaptations and rarely performed works. Performs mainly at Carl Cherry Center for the Arts, Carmel. Also has a children's program, Family Fantasy Theatre.
